Rabbit! Rabbit!

On the first day of every month—before you utter any other word—say Rabbit! Rabbit! When you do, you will have good luck all month long (or so it is said).

I am not the only one to subscribe to this charming superstition. It is said that President Franklin Delano Roosevelt also Rabbited and so did Gilda Radner (with a twist...she said Bunny! Bunny!). Actor Sarah Jessica Parker also is a Rabbiter.

When I was a child, my Dad carried a rabbit’s foot as a good-luck charm, and he made sure that my sister’s and I also had a rabbit’s foot. He and my Mother were superstitious. No walking under ladders, stepping on a crack in the sidewalk, eating fowl on New Year’s Eve, or allowing a black cat to cross in front of them. If there was a way to prevent bad luck, then they did whatever was necessary. If there was a way to bring good luck...well!...they were 100% “in” for whatever it took to attract that good luck.

Does Rabbit! Rabbit! work? Maybe yes...maybe no. But you can be sure I have hopped on board the rabbit train with highest of expectations of good health, happiness, and prosperity.

I think it is far better than Thoughts & Prayers.
