Dumpster Dive Dinner Dates.
Approximately once every month, my husband, our friends Mike and Lisa, and I go out for dinner. Typically, we choose local “dumpster dive” restaurants because we want to support local restaurateurs...try local specialties...and broaden our outlooks on dining in Northeast Ohio. Plus, having opportunities to spend time with two of our closest friends became even more meaningful during and, now, after the Pandemic. With them, every new experience is fun and memorable.
Three (or is it four?) years in, and Lisa still keeps our list of dumpster dives. Admittedly, not all have been “dives” (Russo’s in Cuyahoga Falls (a favorite for Creole food ) is not a dive, nor is Bistro on Main in Stow/Kent). And almost all have served delicious food (Whitey’s Booze n’Burgers in Richfield has some of the best chili I’ve ever eaten). The patio experience at Missing Mountain Brewing Company in Cuyahoga Falls is terrific. D’Angelo’s in Hudson has fantastic Italian food. During the Pandemic, we ordered carryout (pizza from Altieri’s in Munroe Falls!) and ate in our Man Cave or sat on Mike and Lisa’s spacious outdoor patio.
The main criteria for our DDDD evenings is being together. Talking. Laughing. Catching up. Reminiscing. Planning for the future. Everything is better—more fun—happier...when shared with friends.
