The Murals of Wilmington

Several years ago, my husband and I visited Philadelphia. We had passed through Philly in the past, but— on that visit—we were squired around by friends who wanted us to see the charm of the city. And that included up-close inspections of the gorgeous murals splashed onto the sides of many buildings.

I loved them! And, since then, I have looked for murals in other cities.

Imagine my delight when I realized that Wilmington—a lovely port on the Cape Fear River in North Carolina—fairly bursts with murals.

Who creates these masterpieces that seem to turn Wilmington into a giant, outdoor art gallery? (That’s a rhetorical question.)

All I know is this: Drive down a road...pause at the exit of a parking garage...wander into a brewery...open your eyes—and you will see that Wilmington, North Carolina, murals live in surprising places.

Do you have murals where you live? Post pics, please!!
